I have used php.ini on several of my old files and have been told by my server's tech support to
add the lines for PHP setting in the .htaccess file.

Is there a particular place where I can add

#php 7.2
AddHandler application/x-httpd-ea-php72 .php .php7 .phtml

OR

#php 7.3
AddHandler application/x-httpd-ea-php73 .php .php7 .phtml

to the .htaccess Maker. Will I need to remove any copies of php.ini?

Hello,

if you have any extra rule that you want to add to your .htaccess, please put them in the Custom rules at the beginning of the .htaccess file field, in the Htaccess Maker.
In this way you won't lose any changes if you regenerate the file.

Regarding your php.ini, you should contact your host and ask him if you need to delete it or not, since it depends on your server configuration.
