I receive this error when trying to update components in Joomla

Could not open update site FOF Updates (official releases)

This seem to be missing —> FOF Updates (official releases) Missing from the update sites?

I think you are referring to a really old update site from a much earlier release of FOF (possibly 2.x). The current update site is called "FOF 3.x", its URL is http://cdn.akeebabackup.com/updates/fof3_file.xml and it works just fine. In fact, we cannot build any public release of any FOF-powered extension we maintain unless the FOF 3 update site is up and running. Our build process downloads the latest released FOF version from the information contained in this file :)

Thanks Nicholas, yep, I got the FOF 3.x, the other one was probably old remnants.
Just trash that old version and keep the FOF 3.x
