Hi,

I am grasping at straws here but I am administrating around 10 joomla based sites using Akeeba Backup and Amin Tools Pro on all sites. I am also via my web host using the free SSL Cerificate from Let's Encrypt and everything is working fine on all sites except for one of them.

On this site the SSL certificate seem to run out every time I log into Joomla backend. All other sites are working fine.

So I know this might be a long shot but I am grasping at straws so all kind of suggestions are highly welcomed. Can it be something that has to be set in Admin Tools in order for the certificate to work?
If I clear all cache in the browser the SSL certifcate becomes valid again and on the server everything look good. So any suggestion that might be related to Admin Tools or Akkeba Backup in this matter would simply make my day.

All the best

Hello,

I'm pretty sure that Admin Tools is not related to your issue, since they live in two different universe: SSL certificate lives on your server configuration, Admin Tools on your website. Admin Tools can affect your browser to force it to always load the HTTPS version of your site, but it can't change your server configuration.

First of all, I'd suggest you to replace your current .htaccess file with Joomla default one, then manually disable Admin Tools system plugin. In this way our software is completely disabled. Do you still have the same issue?

Then I'd check your configuration.php file. Do you have any values for variables $live_site, $cookie_domain and $cookie_path? In 99.9% of the cases they should be left empty. Honestly that's the only things that are coming to my mind, otherwise you'll have to ask your host what's going on. For the records, I see that your certificate has been issued today.

Hello,

Thanks for all suggestions.

I have tried to replace the .htaccess with the joomla default one by renaimng it from htaccess.txt to .htaccess and renaiming the other to access1.txt.

THen I disabled the admintools system plugin but this did't affect or solve the issue.

All of the variables you suggest are empty so it is definitely something on the host server that is causing the issue.

The SSL certificate was renewed by myself earlier today as I wanted to try if deactivating the certificate and then re activate it would solve the issue, but that did not solve it either.

All my other sites work fine on the same server, only deifference is that the other sites are oledr and are using an older Direct Admin interface than this site, however I find it hard to believe that this is causing the problems.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions and I wish you a great weekend!

For what it's worth, Let's Encrypt certificates are issued by domain, so it's possible to have issues on a site and not to another. Honestly you should get in touch with your host and report the issue, it seems there's something off with your server configuration.
