Hi,

I need to give a 3rd party temp access to the backend of this site. I cleared the Administrator secret URL parameter is the WAF cofig. But, testing from a different browser without any saved passwords, it browsing history for all time cleared, and it's own VPN (opera) I still get the browser-based first challenge. I thought I had read that clearing that parameter turned this function off. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,

mark

Hello,

those are two different features: the secret admin param is required to have access to the login form and it's something like this administrator/index.php?secret

The second one (which I think you have in place) it's the "Protect your Admin area with a password" and it's based on a extra username/password asked before reaching Joomla installation. Please get inside Admin Tools and turn it off, that should fix your issue.

Hi,

Thank you for the clarification. That solved the issue.

I did look at that setting earlier but couldn't tell for certain if the feature was turned on or see the p/w. After the 3rd party access is done I will turn these features back on individually and check their behaviour for a better understanding.
