Hi Support,

I am trying to update my joomla 3 site to Joomla 4 what is the correct way to update Admintools & Akeebabackup components.

Do I disable admintools & Akeebabackup for joomla 3 first tehn install the joomla 4 update or install the joomla 4 compatable extensions before update site to joomla 4 what is the correct way to proceed.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, I read the Common issues but could not determine the way to go forward, I am using waf & htaccess maker with admin secret url enabled.

Kind regards.

Tony.

Hello,

please take a look at our announcement: https://www.akeeba.com/news/1747-joomla-4-is-around-the-corner.html

Long story short, simply update Admin Tools to the latest available version under Joomla 3, update to Joomla 4 and then update Admin Tools again. It will pickup the correct version for you, there's no need to uninstall or disable the component during the update process.
