pgypps

not an akeeba fault, but something is wrong with this site, if i hit REGENERATE (Your server config file may need to be rebuilt) it kills the site, i think if i regen .htaccess in AA i believe it also does, espescially if i ask it to redirect to non-www.

ive noticed that if i have siteground set as manual 8.0.30 ...then do a .htaccess creation, it reverts to sitegrounds managed PHP which by default is 7.4 or something low.  i assume regen does too ??

any ideas at this point without access ?i can give access later if no idea :)

Hello,

this means that your PHP version is defined by a directive written inside the .htaccess file. When you regenerate the .htaccess file, Admin Tools doesn't know about this, so the directive is not written and your server dies.

In order to fix this, get inside your host control panel and set the PHP version you want. Take a look at the .htaccess, you'll see that some lines have been added. Copy those lines and put the inside the Htaccess Maker field "Custom rules at the bottom of the .htaccess file", then hit save and regenerate.

In this way Admin Tools knows that it will have to always add those lines in the file and your server won't die when you regenerate the file.
