Hi

I, using yootheme,  had to and did find a way to edit my pages from the front end by changing WAF. Thanks in part to partial information I found on this site.

I had the following errors.

template= in URL

I tried allowing the word template in waf,

Block template=foo site template switch  to "NO"
Allow site templates  to YES

Did not fix it.

Then I noticed the error had changed.
Direct File Inclusion shield (DFIShield)

under "request filtering"

I set ( Direct File Inclusion shield (DFIShield) ) to NO

Then I could edit from front end.

I  set these back when I was done.

Is there a way (please give details) I can edit .htaccess or WAF so it would be (somewhat) safe to edit from the frontend in the future should the need arrise.

Thanks in advance.

Please take a look at https://www.akeeba.com/support/admin-tools/41699-yootheme-403-on-frontend.html. It looks like you have the same problem.

Hi

You are correct. I read that before my request, and used its title for my request.  I do have the same problem, but I do not have the skills to understand that answer.  I need precise location and code to SAFELY apply such a fix. Either to WAF exceptions as mentioned, or to .htaccess

I am a user since 2007, and no longer a designer.  I just try to keep mine running now.  I depend heavely on Akeeba, Joomla, and Yootheme, no longer notepad.

any help grately eppreciated,

 Dan-L
