Hi there,

In the .htacces maker I see an option "restrict access by IP". It is not described in te documentation.

Can you tell me what this option does?

Regards,
Peter

It only allows your site to be accessed by specific IP addresses.

When it is set to None there is no restriction (default).

When it's Custom List you can enter your own IP expressions to allow access to the site from.

There are also a few other presets e.g. CloudFlare, Sucuri, BunnyCDN.

The idea is that if your site is behind a proxy or CDN, NOBODY should be able to bypass this proxy / CDN to access your site directly; you placed that proxy or CDN in front of your site for a reason! How do we enforce that? By only allowing the proxy / CDN to access your site. How do we implement this? By restricting access only to the IP addresses which belong to this proxy or CDN. This is exactly what this feature implements.
