Dear Support,

On the website https://dlh.zh.ch/, I use the administrator secret URL parameter and administrator directory password–protection. In the Panopticon interface, I added the administrator directory username and passwords. When I try to connect the website and the Panopticon, I receive a message "Could not connect to the remote site.".

Could you please advise how to solve this issue?

Best regards,

Andrii

That's completely unrelated. The only place where the administrator directory password protection comes into play is updating Joomla, and for this we already have a place for you to put this information in Panopticon under "Administrator Directory Password Protection" when you create or edit a site connection.

To troubleshoot your connection to the API application please refer to https://github.com/akeeba/panopticon/wiki/Connection-Troubleshooting where I have compiled all possible issues and their solution.

Hello Nicholas,

thank for sharing the article with me. I went through each step carefully and have no success in connecting the site still.

Here is a message that I get after every try:

"Could not connect to the remote site.
Troubleshooting Information
Warning: Undefined variable $isWordpress in /home/httpd/vhosts/site-monitor.n3e.ch/httpdocs/tmp/compiled_templates/d/d/ddbd9aa236986dbb3791a714d7cfc570ddbf3e97.php on line 214

Uh oh. Something is totally broken here…

Normally we can detect the nature of the connection error and provide some useful troubleshooting information here, or at least point you to some kind of useful, third party troubleshooting resource. When this is not the case, we can at least print out an error message which will help us help you troubleshoot it.

Instead, we got an error which we should be able to provide troubleshooting information for (Akeeba\Panopticon\Exception\SiteConnection\APIApplicationIsBroken), but we don't have the code for it. This should have not happened.

Please delete all files and folders inside the tmp folder of Akeeba Panopticon. This addresses the problem of this page's cached copy being severely out of date. If this doesn't help, please let us know."

Please advise, what else can I do in this case?

Have you tried deleting all files and folders inside the tmp folder of Akeeba Panopticon?

Yes, I tried it too.

Then the fact that you are getting an APIApplicationIsBroken exception means that your issue is something addressed in the troubleshooting documentation I linked  to before (https://github.com/akeeba/panopticon/wiki/Connection-Troubleshooting).

Try using the endpoint URL https://dlh.zh.ch/api/index.php    Note the index.php at the end. Make sure your API key is entered correctly. If you still have a problem, go through the troubleshooting steps again, you have missed something.
