First of all, I would like to note that this is not handled by our code. It is handled by Joomla itself. The Download ID management in Update Sites is handled by Joomla's com_installer component – the extensions installer. The full extent of the control we exert over that is adding a single line in the extension package's XML file which says "we'd like the user to enter a Download Key".
I want you to go to System, Update Sites and search for Admin Tools in its search bar. It should come back with exactly one item titled Admin Tools Professional for Joomla. If you see more than one items, stop and tell me.
Click on that item. It should show four fields:
- Name. Set to
Admin Tools Professional for Joomla, non-editable.
- Type. Set to
extension, non-editable.
- Location. Set to
https://cdn.akeeba.com/updates/pkgadmintoolspro.xml, non-editable.
- Download Key. That's where you enter your Download ID.
Go to our site's Add-on Download IDs page and copy the main Download ID you see in there. Paste it into the Download Key field on your site. Then click on Save & Close in the toolbar.
Now you are back in the Update Sites page in Joomla.
Look at the Admin Tools Professional for Joomla entry. It should display a Download Key with the value of your Download ID next to it.
If this is not the case, go to System, Maintenance, Database. Does it report any problems for the Joomla CMS entry? If so, select this entry's checkbox and click on the Update Structure button at the top of the page. Then, try the same thing all over again. Did it work now?
Note: I do not need and you should not tell me your Download ID. This should be left out of a public ticket.
