Hi,

admin tools pro looks great, just trying it out.

I've found something a bit strange and thought I'd ask what is the expected outcome for anti-leeching.

I have jpg images withing a sub-directory of images/stories it contains images for a flash header rotator.

anti-leeching is set 'Yes' and the rotator seems not to be able to load the images (you just get an endless timer)

If I add /images/stories to the 'Allow direct access, except .php files, to these directories' exception list it works fine and the images are loaded okay.

Does this mean the anti-leech setting normally only allows static content to go out in the base directory 'stories' not any sub-directories?

In the docs it normally states that all sub-directories are also covered but does this not apply to the anti-leech?

Also, strangely it seems to only be Firefox that has the issue IE seems okay.

Hope this makes sense. I might have completely misunderstood :-)

Cheers,

Dave

I will have to take a look at it. The anti-leech should not block access to images/stories and all its subdirectories. What you observe is most certainly not the desired behaviour. I'll look into this.

I ran into the same issue with a product called "Smart Flash Header" It stores its images by default in a directory called stories/sfh. I turned off the anti-leech and it didn't help. What I did discover is that I needed to add the directory "cache/mod_novasfh" to the list of exceptions "Allow direct access to these files" once I did that the header started working.... There is no images in that directory, Just an XML file, but it contains all the details of the images and its links

Rich,

Yes, that is exactly what is needed. The .htaccess will automatically block access to all XML files. Even the Joomla! stock .htaccess does that - and doesn't tell you how to add exceptions. So, I'd say that the flash header extension uses a not-so-safe way to deliver the image information to the flash file :)
