Oops
The update did not like my SSL https based system
Illegal key characters in global data
shows in the user front end.
Admin still accessible.
I updated the tool from inside the tools admin area using the line of text in the upper long box
then chose to fix permissions
then cleaned cache and previewed the site in another tab of Firefox
Bam.... Illegal key characters in global data
site is now inaccessible
Now what can I do please?

This error message does not come from Admin Tools. I think you have the jHackGuard plugin installed as well. If you do, please remove or disable it. It is the one causing this error.
