I am trying to update Admin Tools Pro from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2 from within the Admin Tools Pro interface and keep getting this error.

'Downloading the update package failed. Make sure that your temp-directory is writable or that you have enabled Joomla!'s FTP options in your site's Global Configuration.'

I do not have FTP enabled but my temp-directory is set to 755 and server is using PHPsuExec so it should be writable. I have tried disabling various settings in .htacces and WAF but still get the error.

I have noticed that when I try the update there is a file called 'com_admintools.update.zip' created in the temp-directory with size of 0 kb and permission 644.

Please advise what I might try to get the temp-directory writable or what the process is to manually update it.

Thanks

Daniel

so your temp path is correct in confg.php or gloabl admin, same thing?

your server also needs to have curl enabled, also check that.

what browser are you using, personally i have had issues with chrome and firefox, strage, after a few multiple attempts in quick succession it works.

if actual fact anyone running a joomla site on a dedicated box, the following function are generally not needed and should be disable, curl is not on that list.

show_source,system,shell_exec,passthru,phpinfo,exec,popen,proc_open,allow_url_fopen

Thanks for the reply.

I have double checked temp-directory path in configuration.php and global config and it is correct.

Curl is enabled.

I have been using Firefox 3.6.15 and also tried IE8.

I am still getting the same error.

That's a confirmed issue with the Live Update code. I will fix that in the next release. In the meantime, you can update manually by simply installing the new version on top of the old one.
