Hi Nicholas,

Last week I registered for Admin Tools Pro, after your fine security presentation on #jdnl11. Now I'm playing with it on a Joomla! 1.6.1 site for study and testing.

Today we got the Joomla! 1.6.2 update released. My Joomla! installation is the Dutch version of Joomla! 1.6.1 released by Joomlacommunity.eu. Because I want to update to the Dutch version of Joomla! 1.6.2, I want to use the Dutch update-package and download it from the Joomlacommunity.eu server.

Now my question: Is there a possibility to customize the url(s) of the update-packages in Admin Tools Pro? Or do I need to hack some core files of Admin Tools Pro?

Of course I can do the update manual, or download them and upload to the temp directory, but it would be very nice to do this updating strait from Admin Tools Pro using it's functionality like autobackup etc..

Best Regards,
Klipper

First off, don't upgrade to 1.6.2 yet. There is a huge bug that prevents many extensions from working, including Admin Tools itself. As I've said before, Joomla! 1.6 is still alpha quality software that should not be used on live sites.

Now, if you insist, the answer is "it depends". If the localised version is hosted on joomlacode.org and following the same naming conventions for patch packages as the official version then, yes, you can specify a custom download URL if you hack some Admin Tools files. In any other case it won't be possible. That said, I find no reason to do that. The localised version is simply 1.6 + translation files. You can safely upgrade the core system and then apply any updated translation files on top.
