#9847 Is this normal behavior when install .htaccess

My .htaccess generated by Admin Tools Pro 2.0.5 seems to be working, when I check the directory and view the file, the time stamp at the top is correct.

I do notice some curious errors upon trying to install it though.

1st: When I click the save button to create it, I immediately get a 500 server error.

2nd: If I reload the admin interface, I get both a message that it was successfully installed and also this: JFile::copy: Cannot find or read file: 'SITE_PATH_REMOVED/.htaccess'

The 500 error is not something I'd expect to see. Based on your description, I think that the server has some kind of protection when someone tries to read the .htaccess file from PHP code, but not when writing to it. Maybe it's just a custom protection on your host's servers, I can't explain it otherwise.
