EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue: 1) I successfully backed up the site and have two files .jpa and .j01. 2)I moved the two file to a clean server with Kickstart.php 3) I started the restore process and the progress bar goes all the way until 96 or 97% and it stops completely ... I tried several times and it stops at different files

i am using Joomla 1.7 on Godaddy servers

thanks,

Do you have enough disk space for the archive and its extracted contents on your account?

In this case, the most reliable solution is to follow a workaround. Extract the backup archive locally, using Akeeba eXtract Wizard (it's a free download). Then upload all extracted files to your site. Now visit http://www.example.com/installation/index.php (where www.example.com is your domain name) and proceed with the restoration. When the restoration is over, remember to remove the installation directory and its contents using FTP.

ok, I extracted all the files on my computer and then FTPed them to the new server (new domain name) but when I try to run www.newdomain.com/installation/index.php it gets redirected to my old domain the one I am trying to backup.

thanks for all your help

Have you tried renaming/removing .htaccess before uploading the files as per the instructions in our Quick Start Guide? If not, please remove or rename the .htaccess file you have uploaded.

Thanks for all your help

one last question. on the restored site I can not install any modules it keeps giving me a message saying "There was an error uploading this file to the server"
I check the PHP.ini and confirmed the UPload size and the temp path
I confirmed the permission of the folder from Fillzilla FTP and from Godaddy File Manager.
I don't know what else to do
thanks

It has to be one of those. Maybe you just have the wrong path to the temp-directory of your site? Take a look at the component installation troubleshooting instructions for step-by-step instructions to checking your tmp directory.
