Hi there,

On all of my Joomla 4 websites the "test ftp-connection" is not working. After entering all information I click on "test ftp-connection". The button is disabled, but there is not modal to report a succesfull (or unsuccesfull) connection.

Also there is no upload of the backup at the post-processing.

There is no error in the webserver log-file and also not in the Akkeba logfile as far as I can see.

The host / username / passwords are correct. They work in case of all of my Joomla 3 websites.

Best regards,
Peter

Hello,

this means that the connection between your server and the FTP server is blocked. This usually happens because there's a firewall getting in the way (on your server of the FTP server). Please try to toggle the switch about using the Passive Mode (if it was checked, uncheck it and vice versa).

We will try to use a different FTP mode to perform the connection, but please note that depending on firewall configuration, it could be impossible to connect the two servers.

You can find more details here: https://www.jscape.com/blog/bid/80512/active-v-s-passive-ftp-simplified

Thanks for the reply.

The connection is not blocked. I know that because there are other websites in Joomla 3 with Akeeba Backup Pro where making a connection is no problem. Only on all of my Joomla 4 websites a ftp-connection is not possible.Therefor my conclusion is that there is someting wrong with the Joomla-4 version of Akeeba Backup.

Also if the connection was blocked there should be a modal that the connection failed. That is not the case: the button is disabled and even after 1 hour there is not message what so ever.

Best regards,
Peter

Thank you for the report. There was indeed a bug on the Test button, I just fixed it.

Uploads should be working just fine, you're only missing the opportunity to test them.

The fix will be included in the next version, thanks again for reporting it.
