1st:  THANK YOU for producing Akeeba Backup PRO for J4.

It works GREAT on Joomla v4, something that other software vendors are having some trouble with, believe me !

2nd: DO YOU know a way to get the One Click Backup button on the Akeeba Bckup PRO control panel to apper on the

Joomla v4 Home Dashboard ?

I have been poking around trying, but cannot seem to figure that out. Is it possible ?

3rd: I regularly configure Akeeba BAckup PRO to post-process sending the completed backup to another off-site server via FTP. AND I have a CRON job at that server that prunes off the remote backups that are over 4 days old.

IS THERE another, perhaps more integrated way, to have Akeeba manage these off-site backups, pruning and so on ?

THANK YOU again for a GREAT product line !

Happy customer !

Akeeba Staff

Hello,

thank you very much for your kind words!

Regarding your questions: we do have a quick icon plugin that can start a backup with the profile you configured: https://www.akeeba.com/documentation/akeeba-backup-joomla/quickicon-plugin.html.

I think this is the best way to handle your request. You can create custom admin menu items (https://www.akeeba.com/documentation/akeeba-backup-joomla/using-akeeba-backup-component.html#menu-items) to several different pages for Akeeba Backup.

You can even create a real button, but that means using a third party module. I think it's a bit of an overkill, the two above methods should be good enough for your use case.

Regarding pruning old archives, the feature you're looking for is called "Quota Management", you can find inside backup profile configuration (https://www.akeeba.com/documentation/akeeba-backup-joomla/configuration.html#quota-management). When you run a backup you can set some policies to delete old archives, please remember to check the flag "Enable remote quotas" to let Akeeba Backup delete remote files as well.
