Please ask your host to confirm whether you have both enough free disk space on your user account and that you have not reached your maximum file count.

If you are good on both of these limits, with plenty of free space to take a backup, ask them what is the maximum file size (ulimit -f) for your account. If they tell you that it's anything other than unlimited please tell me what it is so I can tell you what to set the Part Size for Split Archives option to make it possible to take a backup of your site on this server.
