I'm using today's release. Not completely blank, but has no options, just section titles.

When I installed it told me that jQuery and jQuery UI was not loaded. Tried changing the directory to 0644 as mentioned and it went crazy, so I changed it back and tried the second suggestion to turn on Google Ajax Library instead.

None of that helped. Not sure if the two are related issues.

Any suggestions?

I had the Google Ajax Library Plugin enabled, when I disabled it, that brought back the config options. Any idea why?

It does appear to be a conflict between the two. I'll flag this for Nicholas.

According to some testing I've performed, both jQuery and jQuery UI options must match, i.e. both be "Google AJAX API libraries" or both be "included with the component". If you try to mix the two, strange things might happen.

Also, if the problem was with the directory permissions all along, you sometimes have to clear your browser's cache for everything to work properly (this is a limitation to the way browsers perform their web requests - that's beyond my control).

You say that you had the "Google Ajax Library Plugin" enabled. Which one is this? Do you have a link so that I can download it and test its compatibility with Akeeba Backup?

Hi Nicholas,

Let me clarify:

I had the Google Ajax Library Plug-in already enabled on the site before I installed Akeeba. When I installed Akeeba, it gave me a warning that the jQuery or JQuery UI was not available and that I could try two things: 1. Change the settings in Akeeba "parameters" to use the Google Ajax Library or 2. change directory permissions.

I tried the permissions route first and did clear the browser cache a few times, but the Akeeba Dashboard just looked all jacked up. I changed the permissions back and did the Google Ajax Parameters suggestion in the Akeeba Parameters. When I tried to set up my profile config and went to the profile congif it was just a page with the headings but non of the parameters. So the little lightbulb in my head flickered and I thought, must be a conflict with Google Ajax Library plug-in and I went and disabled it and it fixed everything. So right now Akeeba is working which is more important because I have it set up for Amazon S3 - yey! ;) But I am pretty fond of the Google Ajax Lib plug-in | JED so if it can be fixed I would be eternally grateful.

Kind regards,

CS

Thank you for the clarification. I will download and install this plugin on my test server and produce a workaround so that it doesn't cause a conflict with Akeeba Backup.

I guess you already know that Akeeba Backup 3.0.a4 has the fix in place :D

I just want the software I produce to be as good as it can possibly get. Doing precise and fast support induces the much-needed community feedback and allows me to produce even more useful software. IMHO, the user-developer relationship is supposed to be one where both gain and nobody loses. I try hard to achieve it and I find its outcome to be one of the most rewarding aspects of being a developer :)

And you do a good job, most developers are not so responsive. They do good work but their support sucks. The only other people who's support service I could compare to yours is ProThemer. I will keep supporting your project however I can. And thanks for the fix. :)
