I have Akeeba running on one unlimited godaddy account and backup up many websites without error. I installed the same version on another account, and it seems to be dying out with an Ajax error around the same point every time.

I have unlimited storage and bandwidth, so this is not the issue.

(log file attached) thanks!

Your log file did not come through. You will probably need to zip the file in order to get it to post.

I found a similar post about enabling web services shortly after posting. I just enabled that and I'm in the middle of another attempt... I will let you know if this works. If not I'll zip the log and send.

Here's the log...crashed same place again after enabling web services.

@davedfi, that's a pretty big backup log, 81,000+ lines. How big is the archive file? On a 32 bit operating system, there is a 2 Gb limit on archive file size. That is a hard limit, it is caused by an internal integer field overflowing at that point. You can do a larger backup by splitting the archive into 2 Gb parts. A backup whose total size is greater than 2 Gb requires some special handling on restore.

Enabling web services would only apply if you were doing a backup with Akeeba/JoomlaPack Remote. It isn't used on a back end backup.

@awagner, your log didn't come through. You will probably need to zip the log in order to get it to post. Please start a new thread, you're getting the same error message, but the message is generic and has many causes. It is easier to deal with one problem in a thread. :) Thanks.

Thanks, I will try splitting the archive file. I actually changed the setting to a single file to fix another problem addressed in one of my other posts due to a bug in Akeeba. I've since upgraded to the latest and greatest though so I'm assuming that bug was fixed (?) I'll let you know how I make out.

dlb
Yes, the "second part" bug is fixed in 3.0.a4. That one was fixed a while ago. :)
