Just a newbie question here ...

I backed up my site into 50+ files on Amazon storage.

How would I go about restoring a site from so many different files?

Thanks!

All of the files together form one backup archive. You would need to move all of them to the root of your site in order for kickstart to be able to extract and restore the site.

In most cases, you need to use split archives when going to S3 in order to avoid timeouts while moving the individual parts to S3. You can try using a larger part size to reduce the number of parts. If you get errors during the transfer, the part size is too big. It depends on lots of factors, one size does not fit all. :)
