Best Ever!
Tinkered around several tries with different configs for a new site backup to S3...it required php setting to 60 seconds for max_execution_time....is this extreme? I could not configure within Akeeba interface anything that would work at 40 seconds...
I have ASL linux security on the server, could this tight system be the cause for the long requirements?
It ended up being 4 files...the jpa file at 11623 KB, while the other three were 31589 KB...
Maybe change the file sizes, I did not tinker with that in the Akeeba config...
When and if I have to restore these from the S3 bucket, is that direct from the Akeeba backup interface, or do I have to manually collect the files on either my server or desktop.
Thanks

dlb
Most users reduce the size of the backup parts rather than increase the timeout value. Getting it to work requires finding a chuck size that can be transferred to S3 during your timeout value. :)

You can't restore directly from S3. You will need to move the files back to the server in order to extract and restore them.

Would that be the jpa configure "part- size" for split archives? The setting is 30mb, so I will try lower to find a sweet spot...thanks again...

dlb
Yes that is the setting. "Sweet spot" is exactly what you're looking for. That's as good a description as I've heard! :)
