I Need a backend/frontend Joomla demosite, somebody on joomla.org suggest Akeeba?

What I want to do is to have a site where people can go and play in the administration to have an idea of the system. I like the site to restore automatically to an original state from time to time... can I do that wit Akeeba?

I think so. I think it can be done by triggering kickstart with an automation file using CRON. Nicholas is more familiar with the nuts and bolts of that, I'll flag this for his attention.

There are two ways you can do that. One is the semi-automatic method using Kickstart and its automation capabilities. However, this method requires that you transfer the backup archive and launch the restoration procedure on a browser manually, then it will pick it up from there.

If you want a fully automated system which can restore any backup archive without any human interaction at all, I have created a helper application called UNITE which is only available for a fee (250 Euros plus VAT, if applicable). You create an XML "job description" file and use CRON to automatically restore one or several archives on a predefined interval. It is already being used on several sites. If you are interested in this solution, please send me a PM or email me at nicholas -at- akeebabackup dot com.
