I have just backed up 2 different sites ive been developing on a test domain and used akeeba to back them up and transfer them to new domains.

All went OK, but when taking a fresh backup of the newly installed site. I have noticed the backup size is exactly double on both sites?

I am using latest versions of joomla, Virtuemart on both sites, akeeba pro & used latest kickstart too.
I have my back ups set to Amazon S3 cloud storage.
Ive uninstalled Akeeba prob, re installed it and still the same

Any ideas ???

Ive noticed that the .jpa file and kickstart.php are still in the root. obviously causing me to have a backup twice the size.

Pretty certain I hit the clean up button, is there a reason why these files would stay in the root? Ive never noticed it before.?

Thanks,

Andy

Andy,

I'm glad you figured out the doubled backup size. That was my guess as I was reading your post.

I'm not aware of any problems with the cleanup function for kickstart. You probably used ftp to upload those two files. It is possible that your server setup won't allow your http user to delete files owned by the ftp user. I think using kickstart's ftp mode would solve that, you would probably need to enable Joomla!'s ftp layer as well to keep the ownership nice and neat.

Ive moved 2 other sites today in the exact same way I would always do, all using the same shared hosting account and these have worked fine. after clicking on the clean up bottom, headed back to my ftp client and the .jpa and kickstart had gone ???

I have a niggling doubt that maybe i didnt hit the clean up button on the 2 other sites yesterday ???

I think I Need a break! :B:

LOL I've been known to miss the button. I would swear I hit it but ...
