Just installed Akeeba Backup Pro v 3.2.3 and followed instructions for uploading to Dropbox.

I get notification that backup failed with the following msg:
"Backup Failed

The backup operation has been halted because an error was detected.

The last error message was:

Invalid AJAX data:

Please click the 'View Log' button on the toolbar to view the Akeeba Backup log file for further information.

Before posting to the support forum for assistance please read the User Guide first!."

I re-read User Guide and accomplished troubleshooting IAW forum information, but still got same results.

Here's what I have...........
Joomla: 1.5.22
Host: Siteground
Apache: 1.3.41
MySQL 5.0.81
PHP: 5.2.9

zip'd log file attached.

Thanks in advance!!

Based on your log, the backup completed successfully. At the very end of the process, when Akeeba Backup is about to show you the "backup is now complete" message, your host aborts the request and throws the error. There is no problem with the backup, but I am not sure why this error message is displayed. You can try lowering the part size for split archives, in case this is what triggers the issue. Another client told me that using a 5Mb part size did the trick for him.

Thanks Nicolas. Sorry to trouble you, but before I attempted to change part size, I upgraded site to 3.2.4 and I am now getting an "access forbidden" statement when I try to access configuration wizard, configuration, or access control.

The only item I could find in the documentation related to a front-end backup which I do not have enabled.

First make sure that you are logging in as a Super Administrator. Plain old Administrators do not have privileges to access those pages by default. Once you log in as an Administrator, you can use the Access Control feature to assign the Configure privilege to the Administrator user you normally use.

Hey Nicolas...

Definitely logged in as Super Admin, but I receive the same message. Can I change permissions in site files?

You can manually reset permissions. Using your host's copy of phpMyAdmin (usually labelled as MySQL Administrator or something like that in your hosting control panel), empty the contents of your jos_ak_acl table. This will reset the access control settings to the default values.

Important! Be very careful when using Akeeba Backup's "Access Control" feature. It allows you to lock yourself out of the component. If this happens and you don't feel confident enough to play around with phpMyAdmin, you can always create a new Super Administrator user, log in using that account, go to Akeeba Backup, click on Access Control and give your original user all privileges by clicking on the white X over red icons next to the desired user name so that they become green check marks.
