Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I searched the forum before posting? Yes
Have I read the Troubleshooting Wizard before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting? Yes
Joomla! version: 1.5.23
PHP version: 5.2.17
MySQL version: 5.0.91
Host: GoDaddy Shared
Akeeba Backup Professional version: 3.3.a3

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue.

Description of my issue:

Backups run smoothly however I keep getting the following error message:

AEUtilAmazons3::startMultipart(): [SignatureDoesNotMatch] The request signature we calculated does not match the signature you provided. Check your key and signing method.
Failed to process file /home/content/80/5047680/html/administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup/site-www.mgozarks.com-20110612-092218.jpa
Post-processing interrupted -- no more files will be transferred

I made certain that the correct access and secret keys were input in the configuration.

I've also searched AWS forums and help files to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated as a primary reason I moved to the Pro version was to be able to backup multiple sites to S3.

Thanks in advance.

Some servers have difficulties using multipart uploads to Amazon S3. Please go to Akeeba Backup's Configuration page, click the Configure button next to the Post-Processing Engine drop down. A new pane opens. Check the "Disable multipart uploads" and click on Save.

Note: depending on your server's connection speed to Amazon S3 and the size of your backup archive you may have to change the Part Size for Split Archives to a smaller value. Usually a value between 10-30Mb works best. This is only required to prevent timeout issues when performing a backup through the web interfaces of Akeeba Backup (back-end, front-end and remote API). If you are using the native command-line CRON script (backup.php) this is not required, as time-outs can not happen in that backup mode.

Thanks. I disabled multi-part backups and brought the Part Size down to 10 and then 5Mb but still received the same error message.

Can you try generating a new set of keys in Amazon S3's web interface and use the new keys in Akeeba Backup's configuration?

I'm sorry. I misunderstood a line in the documentation regarding naming of buckets.

I had named my buckets using upper and lower case letters (MyBucket). For some reason I left that spelling in the backup configuration.

I would up changing all my bucket names to lowercase only and then changed in the config. Now all works just fine. (Although I did have to enable the multi-part backup and reduce to 5MB.)

Thanks for your speedy support and sorry this wasted your time. If I had read the documentation as carefully as I should have, there would not have been a problem.

No worries! Things like that happen all the time. FWIW, I have added an option to the upcoming 3.3 version to honour the letter case of the bucket's name in order to work around issues like that.
