As the first error states, PHP 5.1.x is not supported. You need to have a server with PHP 5.2.6 or later (5.3 strongly recommended).

Now, you may be frustrated and even furious that we do not support your server software. There is a good security reason we don't do so. Please note that PHP 5.1.6 was published in December 2006, almost five years ago. Ever since PHP 5.1 and 5.2 has been declared end-of-life (not supported by their developers). Your host has not upgraded their servers for five YEARS. In computer terms, that's like two centuries old... They use software with known security vulnerabilities which can be used to compromise ("hack") your site. Do you trust your site being hosted on such an insecure environment? I would not.

ok. I tried to load the site onto another domain on godaddy and I encounter a another set of problems.

Please see attached....

I loaded the site using filezilla, with no problems, but the same set of usernames and password give me problems when I run kickstart....pls advise....

First, it is not Kickstart, it is Akeeba Backup Installer (as the title on the page reads with 32pt letters). Kickstart extracts the archive. Inside the archive, in the installation directory, lives Akeeba Backup Installer (or ABI for short) which is the restoration script. So, the issue you have is with ABI, not Kickstart. It's important to give me correct context, otherwise my reply will be way off :)

Now, the problem you have is not that the FTP username and password are incorrect, but that the Directory is incorrect. As mentioned in the Quick Start Guide:

The Directory option is the absolute FTP path to your site's root. The easiest way to find it is using FileZilla to connect to your site and navigate to your site's root, which is usually a directory named htdocs, httpdocs, http_docs, public_html or www. Look at the right hand pane, above the folder tree (Remote site text box). Copy it and paste it in the Directory box.

That's all :)

No, the absolute hosting path is not what you want. This is the absolute filesystem path which has nothing to do with your FTP path.

Please send me a Personal Message (I am user "nicholas") with the following information:
- URL to your site
- FTP connection information (host name, username, password)
- Your database connection information (database host, username, password, database name)
- A link back to this thread so that I know what you're talking about.

This will allow me to log into your site myself and figure out what is going on. Given the fact that I have hundreds of GoDaddy users who are able to restore their sites, I am sure that you are doing something odd when trying to set up your FTP connection in Akeeba Backup Installer. The only way to know is to try setting up the connection myself.

Hi!

Thank you for your PM.

Unfortunately, your host doesn't allow loopback FTP connections. This means that the site is not allowed to connect back to itself using FTP. As a result, you can not use Joomla!'s FTP feature with your site. That said, I checked and saw that all folders are writable, so I don't think you will have any functional issue with your site.
