Hi!

That error message is very misleading. The file which throws a 404 error does exist; it's the index file for Joomla!'s administrator section. My guess is that the server has some kind of protection, like Apache's mod_security2, installed which interferes with the backup process. Let's try a workaround. In the Configuration page of Akeeba Backup set the following:

- Minimum execution time: 5 seconds
- Maximum execution time: 3 seconds (yes, the maximum is LESS than the minimum, it is not a typo)
- Runtime bias: 50%

This should make the backup much slower but should allow Akeeba Backup to dodge this kind of server-side protection.

If this doesn't work, please let me know what is the exact error message displayed and ZIP and attach your new backup log file.

The log file never came through. Please use the Download log file in the View Log page to download the file in .txt format, then put it in a ZIP (not RAR, 7Z or any other funky format, please) and attach it to your next post. If it is over 2Mb, the forum won't accept it. In this case, just upload it to DropBox or Windows Live SkyDrive (but not megaupload, rapidshare or any other file d/l service which imposes a d/l time delay, please) and paste the link here.

You are using Akeeba Backup 3.2.4 which is no longer supported. Please upgrade to Akeeba Backup 3.3.4. If the error persists, please put your new log file in a ZIP archive and attach it here.

Very important! In my previous post I told you to put the log file in a ZIP archive, and not RAR, 7Z or anything else. This is because my primary machine is a MacBook Pro and I usually can't open most such archives, due to poor Mac support of these formats. You were lucky this time as I stayed home today and had access to my secondary Windows laptop which was able to open your attachment. I am very often on the move and I only have access to my Mac, so it's best to use a standard ZIP archive which I can open on my Mac from anywhere in the world I happen to be at that point in time ;)

I think that you are running out of free disk space on your host. Given the enormous size of your database, I think that you need at least 2Gb of free disk space just for the database contents. How much free space do you have?

Nicholas

I checked with my hosting provider (Nominalia.com) and they confirm I have unlimited disk space and 500Gb web/FTP.
