I have a couple of sites in joomla 1.0.x

Do you happen to have an old version of akeeba backup that will run to these sites? I need to have a backup for these sites too in case something happens...

There is JoomlaPack 1.2.3, but it's not supported for three and a half years. Normally, it should work.
