Description of my issue:

Hello
I want to automate my backups with a cron job
I consulted the FAQ carefully but it seems that I can not define the right url to specify so my router cron (host o2switch)
The url is mywebsite / cli / akeeba-backup.php ?
Best regards

dlb
Take a look at the Scheduled Backups option down at the bottom of the Akeeba Backup screen. That will give you detailed information on exactly what you need to put in to the CRON job. The only thing that it doesn't tell you is where your command line php executable is located. Your host - or their FAQ pages - can help you with that.

If your host is giving you a mini-CRON that can't accept command line arguments, then you can't do the backup with that type of CRON service.

You can start a front end backup with any computer that is running at the time you want your backup to trigger. A local Linux box has CRON, Windows has Scheduled Tasks, even a Raspberry Pi can do it. If you don't have a computer that runs 24/7, WebCron.com is a commercial CRON service that can start the backup. It isn't free, but it is very cheap. There are other services available, WebCron.com is the one I've used.
