Hello,

I was able to update Akeeba back up to 7.3.2.1 version. I noticed that Akeeba Backup display a warning message.

Akeeba Backup is ready to backup your site, but there are potential issues.
Default output directory in use.

My IT guy tried to change the output directory, but it always reverted back to the default.

Please advise.

Thank you,

M

That message is a warning, not an error.  It will not prevent you from doing a backup.  The issue is that your backup itself is a security risk and putting it in a known location increases that risk because the bad guys know where to look for it.  There is an .htaccess file that protects the default folder but not all servers respect .htaccess restrictions.  When you move the default folder somewhere else, it at least makes the bad guys look for it.

When changing the default folder there is a "search" button on the right side of the field.  That is usually easier because of the way the path needs to be entered.  In most cases, you're not going from the document root there.
