EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:Β  I received a notice from ROCHEN that I was running out of disk space. Part of it were large, Akeeba Log Files. Since I backup via cron nightly or weekly these have grown.

Is thereΒ  away to limit them or bulk remove them periodically?

Log files are deleted when the backup record is deleted. You can set up the obsolete quotas in each profile's configuration to remove backup records with backup archives no longer present on your server (and also their log files).

OK. All my sites are set to ftp backups immediately and then delete the JPA files. Does this clear the logs as well?

No. The backup records are still left in the database. That's why you need to set up the obsolete records quotas as I said above. When the backup record is deleted so is the associated log file.
