Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the forum before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: (1.5.23)
PHP version: (5.2.17)
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: (Rochen)
Akeeba Backup version: (3.3.b1)

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue.

Description of my issue:
I try to backup using Akeeba. Everything seems to go well, until it reaches 78%, and then it just sits there at 78%, "Finalizing the Backup Process." It just sits there with no error or anything. The "last server response" goes from 0 seconds up to 2 seconds and resets to 0 over and over again. I've left it for almost an hour at one time waiting for it to finish, but it never moves past this point and the only choice is to cancel, and I still receive no error. Please help, I've been trying to back this site up for a week with no success!

Thanks!

Can you please attach your backup log file? It will help me understand what is going wrong.

In order to do so, please go to your site's administrator area, go to Components, Akeeba Backup, View Log and select the "Back-end" origin. When the next page loads, click on "Download log file". It will download a .txt file. Put it in a ZIP archive and come back to the forum. Click on the "Add File" button below the post area and select your file. Write something in the post area (in the lines of "here is my log file") and click on Submit. A notification will come to me that you posted your log file and I'll be able to view it and tell you what needs to be done.

That's weird, I did attach it, not sure why it didn't show up. I'll try again.

Hi!

This time the log file made it through. It turns out that the process gets stuck right after the end of the backup. Let's try some workarounds. In the Configuration page, please set these options:
- Minimum execution time: 0.5 seconds
- Maximum execution time: 20 seconds
- Runtime bias: 75%
- Disable proactive step breaking: check
- Disable step break in finalization: check

if this doesn't work, try checking the "Use database storage for temporary data" option.

If that still fails, try switching the archiver engine from ZIP to JPA.

If all else fails, please attach a ZIP file with your latest log file.

I've exactly the same problem. Configuration changes suggested don't help.

The problem appears always also when I exclude all files, so don't think it has to do with large files.

I attach the log file.

thanks for your help.

@mikelxvii You have a completely different issue, I can tell from the log file. Please start a new thread so that we can keep things clean and neat in the forum :)
