Description of my issue:
Using a free copy of Akeba backup I created a jpa file this afternoon to back up a site.
This evening I had to perform my first restore. I uploaded the backup file into the root directory for the site and uploaded kickstart.php into the same directory. The backup seemed to go perfectly but when I click the url for the site or the admin page of the site, I get the error in the subject line. This is a commercial site and the site is completely down. Please help me!
As soon as I get this site working I will upgrade my Akeba to Akeba Pro for each of my sites.

Regards

Hello Bob,

Sorry for the delay, your request came in late at night in my timezone. I have replied to your ticket, but for the benefit of future searches, I will also paste my reply here. Just a note for future searches: the backup archive was made with JoomlaPack, which was stopped being actively developed in January 2010, as it was superseded by Akeeba Backup.

This error message means that your configuration.php wasn't written correctly to disk, namely the database connection fields are wrong. Please edit your configuration.php file and follow the instructions in step 6 of this page (and only that): https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/akeeba-backup-documentation/unorthodox-emergency-restoration.html This will fix your site.
