Description of my issue:

Hi!

I wanted to create a new website (Site 2) based on another on (Site 1)

I´ve made an akeeba backup of the first site and moved it to a new directory.

Akeeba and Kickstart have worked fine without any problems.

The new Site 2 works as well in the frontend.

But when I want to rebuild the menus or change modules no change takes place in the frontend.
I even can delete (!) all modules in the admin panel of the new site but nothing changes.
The new Site 2 still looks the same like before.

I`ve tried to install a new backup three times and also tried a new database prefix (the original was "jos_") but it still doesn´t work.

I´ve also made a local installation with MAMP and turned off the WiFi connection to avoid that the new installation connects to the first one.

I´ve already read the troubleshoot guide, but I can´t solve the problem :(

Do you have any idea?
Mike

Hello Mike,

I think that the problem is something less sinister than what you think. After restoring your site, please go to your site's Global Configuration page and disable the caching. Then go to Extensions, Manage plugins and disable the "System - Cache" plugin. That should do the trick ;)
