Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? None found
Have I searched the forum before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? None found on Live Update
Joomla! version: 1.7.3
PHP version: 5.2
MySQL version: 5.0
Host: Site 5
Akeeba Backup version: 3.3.9 upgrade to 3.3.10

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue: After using Live Update to go from 3.3.9 to 3.3.10 I am unable to access any other menu function on the back end of my site. Not sure if this was intentional but it doesn't happen on sites I have running Joomla 1.5

I am attaching a screen print to show you that the menu that usually shows at the top of the page is missing. I have to log out and log back in to get functions back. Thanks Pat

Hi Pat,

First, I would assume that you're talking about Joomla! 1.7 and not 1.5 as you posted.

Second, read this: https://www.akeebabackup.com/troubleshooter/abbrokesite.html (It's the same thing). You are bitten by the Joomla! session size "feature" (the maximum session storage size was reduced from 2Gb in Joomla! 1.5 to 20Kb in Joomla! 1.6 and now increased to 64Kb in Joomla! 1.7.3, which is still too little). After installing Akeeba Backup, the session storage overflows and the menu goes away. Logging out trashes your session, your next login creates a fresh session and you see the menu. There's nothing I can do about it, sorry :(
