I purchased Akeeba ten days ago. I have tried upping the php maximum execution. I have tried iframes instead of Ajax. I have called GoDaddy on 3 occasions. I'm not finding a way to get this to complete a backup. I've tried the config wizard and that does not complete. I've tried manual backup.

I've received notice that it was a Ajax error. I went through those articles and worked on that. I tried the php execution time. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

Please help.

Please zip and upload your backup log. That will tell us exactly what is happening when the backup stops and that will nearly always lead to a solution. "AJAX error" is pretty generic, it really doesn't tell me anything.

In case you didn't find it in your research, the appropriate Troubleshooter page is here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/abwpbackup.html

Thank you. I've uploaded it here.
I also did try everything on the page you sent. That was the first thing I did.

Wow, that is a really short log file!

On the Configuration screen, please make sure that "Use database storage for temporary data" is not checked. That is a special purpose option.

Please run the Configuration Wizard. Does the Wizard complete? If not, where does it stop?

Use database storage is unchecked. It was unchecked previously.

I'm sure the log was short. I don't believe a single backup has ever been completed.

I do not even know what to say. I have run the config about 10 times. It completed twice only. I rattled GoDaddy (I know, I know, never again). I changed php5.ini files. And nothing worked.

Then to complete this post, I ran config. It completed. I ran back up and... miracle, for no reason at all. I have the first backup of the site complete.

I have no idea what was different but something apparently was. Thank you for your assistance here. You can close the thread.

The short log indicates that something is going wrong very quickly. We're not even getting he environment information at the top of the log. I'm glad it is working now, but I don't think this is a permanent fix. If it gives you trouble again, let us know and we'll see if we can't beat it into submission.

Have a good weekend!
