Today, I installed the FREE version of Akeeba on my WordPress site. Soon after, I purchased the upgrade. I want to enter the ID to upgrade my copy of Akeeba, but I cannot find the Live Update tab you talk of. Is there a video, or user guide that would walk me through the steps?

I am trying to migrate a Word Press site from one GoDaddy hosting account to another GoDaddy hosting account.

From the Akeeba Backup for WordPress Home screen, scroll down to the System Management group of buttons. Press System Configuration, the tab is labeled "Update" now, Live Update is just a little out of date.

I'm sorry, but I do not see "Update." I followed your instructions (System Management > System Configuration), but no tab "Update" or "Live Update" is visible.

My apologies, I gave you the wrong answer. That option doesn't exist in the Core version.

Due to a limitation in the way WordPress installs plugins the upgrade has to be done manually. Start by downloading the ZIP file of the Professional version from our site and extract it on your computer. Upload all extracted files and folders to your site's wp-content/plugins/akeebabackupwp folder, overwriting existing files/folders.

That did the trick. Many thanks!

Is there a video for using Akeeba to migrate a Wordpress site? I have a Wordpress site hosted at GoDaddy. I need to move it to another GoDaddy hosting account, and heard that Akeeba Pro simplified the process.

dlb
I'm glad you got the upgrade done, I'm sorry for the false start.

Yes! Brian Teeman has done an Akeeba for WordPress series of videos. You can find them here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/videos/63-video-tutorials/1574-akeeba-backup-for-wordpress.html.
