Hi, I have just installed and configured a new wordpress site with Akeeba Backup 2.4.0Pro. I have tried backup twice, but it is failing with the same error, see screen shot.

Also, something I have noticed before, is that the Alice log file analyser does not work, this was the case in previous versions too, it just never completes.

My backup was not copied to Amazon S3, and does not seem to be stored locally either.

regarding ALICE, it seems there is a Javascript error inside the page, that's why the loading never ends. Thank you very much for your report, I'll fix it ASAP.
Regarding your backup, I suspect the host is killing the process because it's using too many resources.
Inside the Configuration page, please use the following settings:
Minimum execution time: 5 seconds
Maximum execution time: 3 seconds
Runtime bias: 50%

Yes, minimum is greater than maximum, that's not a typo. In this way the backup process will be slower, but it should complete.
