No Wordpress Admin after moving a Wordpress site eminway, org to a new server, keeping the same domain name:

  1. I backed up my Wordpress site eminway.org using akeeba backup
  2. I used scp to transfer the jpa file to the new server.
  3. Updated DNS records to point to the new server
  4. Once the DNS records were updated, on the new server, I ran kickstart.
  5. After kickstart was done, I could view the frontend of entire site.
  6. However, when I tried to access the backend (eminway.org/wp-admin) I could login, but my admin user no longer had administrator privileges.  Other admin users also could not login with administrator privileges.
  7. Cursory investigation of the Wordpress database did not show anything amiss with the site.

Hello,

did you change your database prefix? What was your previous prefix and the new one?

I suspect something happened during the replacement step. Please take a look at your database, options table, where option_name is <your_old_prefix>_user_roles and update the prefix with the new one. That should do the trick.
