I developed a site on a test domain.

Did a backup to restore to new (Live) domain.

Looks like the default colors and fonts for Elementor were not carried over and/or updated.

Is this a know issue/limitation or something I should expect to work correctly?

Thanks

Hello,

as far as I know, there isn't any known issue with Elementor.

However, if they are storing data in the options table by serializing them two times (ie take a PHP object and convert it into a string representation, then get that string and convert again into another string representation), that could be a problem.

This is a very edge case, since it makes no sense to serialize the same thing two times; we updated the restoration code to cover that case recently.

In order to test the new changes, you should install a new version of Akeeba Backup, create a backup and restore the website again. Is that possible?

Thanks

I used version 7.5.16 for backup and kickstart 7.1.0 for restore.

I do not see a newer version of either.

The folks at Elementor had this to say:

"Not all backup plugins are working in such a way that you can safely migrate an entire website."

They have posted https://elementor.com/help/site-migration/ instructions on how to migrate a site.

While not without issues, overall, it was successful.

Ok, I was asking if installing a new version was a possibility. Can you please try the latest dev release available here: https://www.akeeba.com/download/developer-releases/backupwp-dev.html

We made some changes, maybe they will solve your issue, too.

OK, thanks Davide

I will download and try the latest developer release. It will probably be next week.
