Hi there !

Akeeba backup pro for wordpress works as expected.

My problem is, when I try to update the plugin to the latest version, I get an error message: "Update failed: Download failed. Forbidden"

Of course, my download ID has been set properly in System configuration - update tab.

What should i do ?

There are two possible reasons for this error.

One is that you do not have the correct Download ID. Please do check your Download ID against the Download IDs listed in the Add-on Download IDs page (you will need to log into our site to access this link).

If the Download ID is correct and you are absolutely sure there's no whitespace, newlines or other characters before or after it then the only remaining possibility is that your host is caching our server's reply, ignoring the fact that we send HTTP headers telling them not to do that. Therefore one failed download at some point ends up becoming a forever failed download. The only solution to that is to manually update the plugin per the documentation.
