EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 10MiB, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Cannot be included as the problem is with activation - error log included below.

Hi Nicholas,

I cant activate Akeeba Back up without getting the following message. As far as I know it is unique to this site as I have several other WP instances running on this server and have had no problems with any of them.

Any help or suggestions would be very welcome.

Best wishes

Richard

According to the stack trace, Akeeba Backup cannot find its database tables in the post-installation code. The database tables installation is handled by WordPress itself when you activate the plugin; that code runs before the post-installation code (I know it's obvious based on the name, I just think it's worth clarifying regardless).

The only condition I can think of which would cause that is that the database user you are currently using with WordPress does not have the CREATE TABLE privilege, i.e. it cannot create new database tables. This wouldn't be a problem for installing most WordPress plugins, as they are not using custom tables, but would definitely break the installation of our software and third party, more complex plugins with their own database tables such as WooCommerce, Yoast, etc.

Can you please ask your host to check the permissions of your database user?
