I am trying to upload a site to AceNet.  The Kickstart program goes through all the stages nicely.  After cleaning the install files, I go to look at the site frontend.

The message, "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ';' in /home/lebanonm/public_html/wp-content/plugins/akeebabackupwp/helpers/AkeebaBackupWP.php on line 890" is presented to me.

I've done a few things to try to clear this, but nothing works.

I have reloaded the site to clear out anything I may have messed up trying to fix it myself.

Can you please give me guidance as to how to get this straitened out so we can get the site back up?

Thank you.

Akeeba Staff

Hello,

we're not doing anything special in that line.. Can you please double check what's your Akeeba Backup version after extracting the site?

You can open the akeebabackup.php file in the folder plugin, there should be a comment like this:

Plugin Name: Akeeba Backup Professional for WordPress
Plugin URI: https://www.akeeba.com
Description: The complete backup solution for WordPress
Version: XXX
Author: Akeeba Ltd

What's the reported version?

Moreover, can you please double check what's your PHP version on the new site? Sometimes hosts default to an older or newer version and it's causing issues

Thank you for your reply.

We ended up removing Akeeba from the site, downloading the latest version from yours, then reinstalling.

As of this morning all is well.

Closing ticket.
