Hi,

I'm uging Akeeba Backup Pro for Joomla as for Wordpress.

As post processing, I'm using Upload to remote ftp server. On Joomla sites there is no problem, all backups are good. But on new WP site I get the error COM_AKEEBABACKUP_CONFIG_FTPTEST_NOUPLOAD.

The settings are exactly the same between Joomla and WP sites, and they are on the same hosting service.

Should I miss something?

Regards,

Pierre

Hello,

that's an untranslated string, we will fix that. The problem is that Akeeba Backup can connect to the remote FTP server, but it can't upload files. This happens because there's a firewall on your server that is blocking the transfer to the FTP one. You can try to toggle the flag for the "Use Passive" option, but there's no guarantee that it will fix the issue, since hosts are pretty resistant to perform changes to the firewall.

To completely avoid the issue you should use, if possible, the SFTP method, where everything goes on the same connection.

Thanks for your reply.

This ftp server works with same config through Joomla sites with same settings in Akeeba Backup. Why on this specific WP should it be mandatory to user SFTP?

I've just tested access with/out passive mode and with/out FTPS with no success.

Most likely there is a firewall blocking the creation of the data transfer connection, you should get in touch with your host and ask them if they can open the firewall for you they did for the Joomla website.

The FTP server is hosted in our office (Synology NAS) where all websites put backups by FTP.

The config is the same for Joomla sites and this WP site.

But I've just seen that the Test FTP connection button gives an error, but the backup profile works well if launched directly without testing in his configuration. Maybe a bug in the called function by the button?

When you claim "The backup profile works well", is the archive truly uploaded to the FTP destination?

Yes the backup is well uploaded to remote ftp server:

If I edit the backup profile, click on Test FTP connection this is not OK:

COM_AKEEBABACKUP_CONFIG_FTPTEST_NOUPLOAD

And if I click on the backup profile button on the main page, backup goes on and uploads to remote ftp server. Just double checked now.

Ok thank you for the report, I'll take a look into it.
