I use configuration wizard and when i try to save the configuration i get this error "The specified root directory does not exist or is not readable by Akeeba Solo".
And this is the error that i get when i select the site`s root "Note: This directory is outside your site's root. Its contents may be unreadable. "

the site root is: /var/mysite
akeba solo is installed in: /var/mysite/akeeba

That is a tricky one! I don't think the error is caused by "URL to Akeeba Solo", I think it is coming from "(S)FTP directory". Both of these options are under System Configuration.

Connect to your site with FTP. Navigate to the Akeeba folder where Solo is located. The remote file path is what goes into that FTP directory field. You can probably just leave all the FTP settings blank. That is a special purpose function for certain servers. You'll get ownership and permissions problems if you need the FTP later turned on.

Leave all the FTP settings blank on the System Configuration screen. Does that fix the problem?

OK, that eliminates the FTP root as a possible problem.

My Solo on my local server is set up with the path starting at /var too. But there are settings in the web server that could change that. Your Site Root (in Configuration) could be /mysite or it could be / depending on the server setup. You can try both of those choices.

What do you get when you use the explorer (the file icon on the right side of the field) to find the path?

if i set "/mysite" is not working
if i ser "/var" is working but is backing up everithing in /var

dlb
Please try /var/mysite/ (with a trailing / ) for the root. It would make a difference if you have an open_basedir setting.

Nevermind. The problem was with the permisions. I use Access Control Lists to set the permisions but now i used chmod and is working.
Thank you.

I'm sorry, I thought about that but thought it was an unlikely cause. I'm glad you figured it out.
