I try to install  Akeeba-Solo at my hosting provider, but can not access.
 Calling index.php results in:

"Your session save path is unwriteable".

Info: Akkebabackup for Joomla is working well at the same server.

I want to select sftp as filezilla and terminal is able to connect this way. However  "Filesystemdriver" shows only FTP Mode. No SFTP is selectable. Trying to connect to port 22 fails due to this.

Trying to connect to 21 results in:
Cannot log in to FTP server [username:password] = web139:[correct_password]
Terminal login is successful with the same parameters!

I used the same hostname as for Terminal sftp or filezilla.

Any suggestions?

SFTP would't help since SFTP connect with the same user your web server runs (or should run) under. The page is a bit misleading since it reuses the same language string as all other remote connection pages in Akeeba Solo which can use SFTP.

While you can use FTP if supported by your server, it's not the recommended approach. You would be storing your FTP login information unencrypted in a file which carries a security risk on shared hosting. The best approach is to ask your host to fix the session save path in their server's php.ini file and make sure it's writeable. Just ask them, they know what to do.
