Updated to 7.5.16 on 4 instances of Solo on different sites without any issues in January.

Tried to log in today for updating to 7.6.0.

While login I get following message on 3 sites: Application Error 0: Value Error: Unknown format spezifier "S"

No further reaction. If I click on the message it returns to the login page.

Same behavior with Firefox, Chrome and MS Edge. Image is attached.

Update at one site was ok.

I installed 7.6.0 manually on two sites. Same error.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Kind regards from Germany

I cannot reproduce this issue BUT I should not that I am using the only language we provide with Akeeba Solo itself: English.

It looks like you are using a German translation which we have not provided (we discontinued official translations in August 2018).

Seeing that you get an “Unknown format specified” error where the logout button should normally be I suspect that your SOLO_LOGIN_LBL_LOGOUT language string is incorrectly using %S (capital S) instead of %s (lowercase s).

This would be a problem with the language file which, as I already said, we have not provided ourselves. In PHP 5 and 7 this would have been an invisible warning. On PHP 8 and PHP 8 only this is a fatal error.

Many thanks for the fast reply.

Your diagnosis was spot on.

I had completely lost track of the old language files.

After deleting the folders, everything runs perfectly.

Warm greetings from Germany.
