 Hi Nicholas,

How can I prevent users from having the "Close ticket" button?

I've tried playing with the permission, particularly disallowing "Edit state" both as a global option and as a category options for "Registered users" (the only ones who have access to ATS), but without success... :-/

Thanks in advance.

You can't. The whole idea of a ticket system is that the end user can close his own ticket when he has received the support he requested or when he no longer wants to pursue the request in the ticket. Not being able to close their tickets is fundamentally opposite to this definition. As a result this kind of option will not be implemented.

Hi Nicholas!

I totally agree with you and BTW this one of the (amongst many others) reasons I love my hosting provider: they never slam a door in your face and have a policy of *never* closing a ticket themselves and leave this duty to the customer.

Anyway I can assure you that when you have to deal with ... let's say "not technology oriented customers"... there are cases where, in face of a "Close ticket" button, they use it thinking of just closing the "ticket window" and going back to the "tickets list"!! :-)

I will solve this (I have to admit "peculiar") issue by overriding the button text with a wording in the lines of "Problem solved, close this ticket".

Thanks!

Sergio
